As a high school senior, thinking of his post-high school plans and career options, Pvt. Dakota Certain couldn’t make up his mind. He was overwhelmed with all the possibilities, and wanted to ensure he made the “right” choice for his future. The indecision gnawed at him, and he didn’t know how he’d ever make a choice with graduation looming on the horizon.

The mission of Marine Corps Recruiting Station Raleigh is to contract and ship the highest quality men and women for service in the United States Marine Corps, to provide continuous professional development for our Marines, and to promote a positive image of the Marine Corps in our local communities.
Recruiting Station Raleigh covers a 30,000 square mile area that contains 52 North Carolina counties. Its major population centers include Raleigh-Durham, Greensboro, Wilmington, Fayetteville, and Greenville. Each canvassing recruiter is responsible for working approximately 625 square miles. The Recruiting Station is currently manned by 59 canvassing recruiters and Staff Non-Commissioned Officers in Charge, 5 officers, and 15 headquarters and support personnel. The Recruiting Station is divided into 11 Recruiting Sub-Stations and 14 Permanent Contact Stations. Recruiting Station Raleigh is responsible for enlisting and shipping approximately 1,000 young men and women to recruit training each year.
