Major Duke, a native of Matthews, Indiana, enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2007 and served 10 years as an enlisted Marine, first as an 0331 Machine Gunner and later earning the occupational specialties 0311, 0341, 0351, 0352, 0913, and 0369 Infantry Unit Leader. He deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. In March 2016, Major Duke commissioned through the Marine Enlisted Education Commissioning Program and reported to The Basic School in September 2016. Following Officer Candidates School, he attended the Logistics Officers Course in Jacksonville, North Carolina, in April 2017.
Upon completion of the Logistics Officers Course, Major Duke reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 3, where he served in multiple billets, including Landing Support Platoon Commander, Motor Transport Platoon Commander, Executive Officer, and Company Commander. During this tour, he deployed with CLB-3 to South Korea for Operation Winter Workhorse. After one year with CLB-3, Major Duke was selected to fill the S-4A billet in 3d Battalion, 3d Marines, 3d Marine Division. In that role, he deployed to Unit Deployment Program (UDP) Okinawa, Japan, and to Marine Rotational Force -Darwin, Australia, serving as the Battalion S-4 Logistics Officer.
In June 2020, Major Duke checked in to the University of Minnesota Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC), Minneapolis, as the Marine Officer Instructor and Operations Officer. During this tour, he served as the Operations Officer for CORTRAMID-East in 2021 and 2022 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and contributed to the commissioning of 61 Navy and Marine Corps officers.
In August 2023, Major Duke checked in to 12th Marine Regiment as the Regimental S-4 and Mobility Officer. He supported multiple III MEF bilateral exercises, including Resolute Dragon, Keen Sword, Keen Edge, and Yamasakura. In July 2024, he PCA'd to Combat Logistics Battalion 12 to assume command of Combat Logistics Company B, later redesignated as Littoral Logistics Company B, 12th Littoral Logistics Battalion.
After one year in command, Major Duke relinquished command of Littoral Logistics Company B and assumed duties as the Battalion Operations Officer in May 2025. He deployed the unit in support of multiple bilateral exercises and the Korea Marine Exchange Program 26.1. In June 2025, Major Duke was selected to serve as RSCO, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Major Duke is Expeditionary Warfare School complete and Command and Staff College complete. His civilian education includes undergraduate degrees in history and accounting, graduate degrees in accounting and business administration (MBA), and a PhD in business strategy and analytics.
Major Duke's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Combat Action Ribbons, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and ISAF NATO Medal.
