Major John S. Robinson IV was born in Woodbury, NJ. From September 2009 until May 2013, he attended Delaware Valley University and earned a Bachelor's Degree with a major in Criminal Justice. In January 2015, he reported to Quantico, VA for Officer Candidate School and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in March 2015. From March 2015 to December 2015, he attended and completed The Basic School and Infantry Officer Course.
In January 2016, he reported to 1st Battalion 2d Marines and served as a rifle platoon commander. In 2017, he deployed as a platoon commander with Task Force Southwest to Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Following his return to Camp Lejeune, he served as a company executive officer and deployed with Battalion Landing Team 1/2 and the 22d Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2019.
In September 2019, Major Robinson reported to The Basic School to serve as a warfighting instructor. From January 2020 to May 2022, he served as an instructor at the Infantry Officer Course. Following his service at IOC, he attended the Expeditionary Warfare School from June 2022 until completion in May 2023.
In June 2023, he reported to 1st Battalion 8th Marines and took command of Company B. He deployed as a company commander with Battalion Landing Team 1/8 and the 24th MEU in 2024. Upon return from the 24th MEU, Major Robinson was assigned as the Battalion Operations Officer for 1st Battalion 8th Marines.
Major Robinson's personal awards include two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. He is married to Olivia Robinson and they are blessed with three children.
