Sergeant Major Miller Daceus currently serves as Command Senior Enlisted Leader, 4th Marine Corps District, Eastern Recruiting Region. He enlisted in the Marine Corps Delay Entry Program in August 1999. He arrived to Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, South Carolina (SC) in July 2000. Upon completion of Marine Combat Training, he reported to Personnel Administration School where he earned the military occupational specialty of 0151, Administrative Clerk.
In January 2001, Private First Class Daceus reported 1st Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment, Camp Lejeune North Carolina. He deployed to Okinawa, Japan on a Unit Deployment Program (UPD) and was assigned a Postal Clerk on the Fleet Assistance Program at Camp Schwab Postal Office. In January 2003, he deployed with 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit as Battalion Landing Team to Iraq in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM I and II.
In April 2004, Corporal Daceus reported to Marine Corps Recruiting Station Orlando where he served as Operations Clerk and Administration Clerk.
In September 2006, Sergeant Daceus reported to MCRD, Parris Island, SC for Drill Instructor School. Upon completion, he reported to Martial Arts Instructor Course and subsequently to Company D, 1st Recruit Training Battalion. Sergeant Major Daceus served as Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Company Operations Chief.
In March 2010, Staff Sergeant Daceus reported to 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, Camp Pendleton California (CA) where he was assigned as Administration Chief.
From 2011 to 2012, Staff Sergeant Daceus reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 11 where he was assigned as Adjutant Chief and deployed with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, WESTPAC 11.1.
In October 2013, Gunnery Sergeant Daceus reported to Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji, Japan and was assigned as a Personnel Chief.
In November 2014, Gunnery Sergeant Daceus reported to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 122, Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, SC and was assigned as Administration Chief. In 2016, he deployed in a WESPAC UDP to Iwakuni, Japan.
In November 2016, First Sergeant Daceus reported to 2d Maintenance Battalion, Camp Lejeune, NC where he was assigned as Company First Sergeant and rotated through four separate companies; Engineer Maintenance, Motor Transport Maintenance, and Headquarters and Services Company.
In February 2020, Sergeant Major Daceus was promoted to his current rank and reported to Marine Corps Recruiting Station Chicago where he was appointed as Recruiting Station Sergeant Major.
In May 2023, Sergeant Major Daceus reported to Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, CA where he was appointed as Base Sergeant Major.
Sergeant Major Daceus' personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with two gold star in lieu of third award, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars in lieu of third award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with four gold stars in lieu of fifth award, and Combat Action Ribbon.
