Maj. Devon Jones

Maj Jones currently serves as the Prior Service Recruiting OIC, Columbus, OH / 4th Marine Corps District. She has performed in this capacity since April 2024.

Devon (Davidson) Jones was born in Columbus, O-H-I-O. She enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve and graduated with Papa Co, 4th RTB, MCRD Parris Island in 2007. Pvt Davidson then checked into Communications Company, HQ BN, 4th MARDIV, Cincinnati, OH as a Small Arms Repairer/Technician.

In 2009, she graduated at the top of her Officer Candidate School (OCS) Juniors class and married Brian Jones. LCpl Jones transferred to 4th Civil Affairs Group, FHG, Washington, DC and completed OCS Seniors in 2011. In 2012, she graduated from the University of Mary Washington and accepted an active-duty commission.

While waiting for the Logistics Officers Course to begin, in 2013, she served as a Research Monitor for the Women in the Infantry Review/Force Integration Plan, School of Infantry East in Camp Geiger, NC. In 2014, 1stLt Jones served as a Motor Transport Platoon Commander for Marine Wing Support Squadron 274, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC. In 2015 she graduated from Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course with the Aviation Ground Support Class. She went on to serve as the Squadron Logistics Officer as well as the Aviation Combat Element Logistics Officer for Exercise COLD RESPONSE 16. Upon return, Capt Jones served as the Motor Transport Company Commander. In 2018, Capt Jones reported to the Army’s Logistics Captain Career Course, Fort Lee, VA where she was the distinguished honor graduate.

In 2018, she was stationed at the Marine Corps Information Operations Center, Deputy Commandant for Information, Quantico, VA. As an Operations in the Information Environment (OIE) Planner she deployed with SPAMGTF-CR-AF 20.1 as a detachment commander and served as the liaison officer to the Special Operations Command's Joint Military Information Support Operations Web Operations Center. As the Assistant Operations Officer she supervised pre-and-post deployment actions for OIE and Psychological Operation Individual Mobilization Augmentee Marines across 8 countries.

In 2021, Capt Jones graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology with a M.S. in Management. To support her spouse as a working professional and continue to fulfil her desire to serve, she joined the Active Reserves. She was assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 23, 4th MLG, Joint Base Lewis McCord, WA serving as the Site Support Executive Officer/Assistant Inspector-Instructor where her appreciation for and understanding of the reserve component significantly expanded.

In 2024, Maj Jones was selected to serve as a PSR OIC. Her station has been annually ranked first in Eastern Recruiting Region, in the top 3 PSR stations nationally, and earned the Commandant’s Superior Achiever award without waivers.
