Staff Sgt. Michael R. Lawskoski, the staff non-commissioned officer in charge of Recruiting Sub-Station Newark, Recruiting Station Baltimore, was meritoriously promoted to his present rank during a ceremony that was held at RSS Newark, Delaware, January 5. Lawskowski, a native of Smithtown, New York, was recently named the 2014 Recruiter of the Year for RS Baltimore for which he received his first Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. After graduating high school in 2003, Laskowski enlisted in the army and served as an infantryman. In 2007, Laskowski enlisted in the Marine Corps where he continued serving in the infantry military occupational specialty. He has completed three combat deployments, including tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and is a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. Laskowski served as the chief instructor for the Designated Marksman’s Course at Marine Corps Base Hawaii before transferring to RS Baltimore. (Photo courtesy of Gunnery Sgt. Robert Kelm)
