U.S. Marine Corps poolee Michael Gambino, a 17–year-old senior at Goochland High School, in Goochland, Va., swears the Oath of Enlistment at Military Entrance Processing Station Ft. Lee, Sept. 11, 2014. For Gambino, who nearly lost his father in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, enlisting into the Marine Corps on the 13th anniversary of that day was a special and emotional experience.
