U.S Marine Corps Capt. Travis Tufte (middle), a native of Kaukauna, Wis. and 2002 graduate of Menasha high school recently received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal June 16 at the Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna, New Cumberland, Pa. Tufte currently serves as the 4th Marine Corps District’s Recruitment Advertisement Officer at the Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna in New Cumberland, Pa. As the RAO, he is responsible for reviewing the development of marketing tools and advertising. Tufte commissioned in the Marine Corps on January 8, 2006. Tufte has been stationed at 2nd Marine Division Camp Lejeune, N.C., 1st Marine Division Camp Pendleton, CA and the Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna, New Cumberland, Pa. Tufte deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in 2007 and Afghanistan in 2010. His awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, the Combat Action Ribbon, two Navy Unit Commendation ribbons, the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation ribbon, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, two Sea Service Deployment Ribbons and the NATO Medal.(U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl Tyler Birky/RELEASED)
