Lance Cpl. Tyler Viglione, a combat correspondent and Boston, native with Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, cleans Cpl. Belleau Wood’s, the Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego’s mascot, uniform during the fan fest before the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl at The StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., Jan. 5, 2014. Local Marines from the reserve center and recruiting district set up vehicles and booths for the bowl attendees to learn more about the Marine Corps and be entertained before the start of the game. The Semper Fidelis Football Program brought together over 90 of the best high-school football players in an East versus West game and is an opportunity for the Marine Corps to connect on a personal and local level with players and influencers, demonstrates commitment to developing quality citizens, and reinforces how core values of honor, courage and commitment relate to success on and off the field.
