U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Jerry Laurenti, Recruiting Station Richmond operations chief, examines the pool ship board while working with a staff noncommissioned officer in charge to determine the availability of a shipping date for a new poolee. Guiding the recruiting operations and shipping of more than 700 young men and women to Marine Corps basic training every year, being an operations chief is no easy task.
