SgtMaj Ariton assumed his current post as the Recruiting Station Sergeant Major for RS Raleigh in March 2022.
He attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California, in May 1996.
Throughout his career, Sergeant Major Ariton's assignments in the operating forces and supporting forces include: Assault Amphibian Vehicle (AAV) crewman, crew chief, section leader, platoon sergeant, logistics chief, company first sergeant and platoon commander in 2d Assault Amphibian Battalion; canvassing recruiter at the Marine Corps Recruiting Station Raleigh N.C.; first sergeant in 1st Marine Division (1st Battalion, 11th Marines and at Headquarters Battalion), 2d Marine Division (2d Assault Amphibian Battalion) and 2nd Marine Logistics Group (2nd Maintenance Battalion); and sergeant major in 2d Marine Aircraft Wing (Marine Air Support Squadron 1 and Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 365 (REIN)) and 2nd Marine Logistics Group (2d Transportation Battalion).
He has deployed to the Mediterranean Sea with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) in 1999; to Iraq for combat operations in 2003 and 2008; to Afghanistan for combat operations in 201O; to the Middle East with Battalion Landing Team 3/5 in support of 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) in 2012; and with 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) as the Aviation Combat Element (ACE) SgtMaj in 2020.
Sergeant Major Ariton holds an associate degree in General Science from the American Military University and a bachelor's degree in Management with a concentration in Human Resources also from American Military University. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with two gold stars, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with combat distinguished device and the Combat Action Ribbon.
